EXCLUSIVE: Spotlight Pictures acquires world rights to Larry Clark’s coming-of-age tale.

Spotlight Pictures has secured worldwide rights to Larry Clark's Marfa Girl. The film premiered at the Rome Film Festival where it received top honors winning the Best Picture award. The film is a raw and visually potent coming-of-age film about a teenager in the small town of Marfa, Texas and his sexual awakening with local girls.

The film was produced by Adam Sherman.

Larry Clark said, "I think Marfa Girl is my best film. It certainly was the most fun I've ever had on a film working with the producer and cast and crew."

"I could not be more proud to represent Marfa Girl at Cannes. Personally, working with Larry means a lot to me. When I was younger Kids was a huge influence on me; and my first job in international sales was working on the sales of Larry's Another Day in Paradise. This film is classic Clark and we are excited to show it  to buyers worldwide," added Spotlight CEO Matt McCombs.

Spotlight is selling the film to worldwide buyers in its premiere market in Cannes.

The deal was negotiated by Carlos Rincon of Spotlight and producer Adam Sherman.
